A Few of the Charities I Support

The Foundation of Small Voices

I am honored to be on the Board of Directors of The Foundation for Small Voices … an NYC-based, not-for-profit organization that uses music to raise awareness and funds for programs that benefit children anywhere on earth.

FSV encourages the use of music to build self-esteem, self-reliance, and community — often among young people who have very little of anything at all. This Foundation demonstrates daily that music can change the world.

It gives me pleasure to share my songwriting royalties with a number of other non-profit organizations, too. You’ll find examples mentioned in the SERVICES/Songwriting section of this site. Future songs of mine will benefit additional causes, and I look forward to sharing that news as soon as I’m allowed to.

Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS

I’ve been fortunate in life and enjoy “giving back” by supporting a number of worthy non-profit causes. An example is Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community, since 1988 BC/EFA has raised over $195 million for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States.

BC/EFA is the major supporter of seven programs at The Actors Fund, including The HIV/AIDS Initiative, The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Actors Fund Work Program, The Dancers’ Resource, The Stage Managers’ Project and three supportive housing residences.

BC/EFA also awards annual grants to more than 400 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide.
